"No, I suppose it wouldn't be," he agrees with a small smirk, imagining for her, everything they're talking about is as usual as hopping on a train to go from one city to another is for him. Their lives are entirely different, as his is from most people who come to Darrow, but he still has to acknowledge that whatever bizarre situation they might come from, it's the usual for them. It's their entire lives. It's not nearly as strange as he thinks it to be.

But people have always struck him as being generally ineffectual when it comes to positive change. They can fuck things up without much effort, but going back the other way seems impossible for them. This just seres to exist as one more example of that.

"So Darrow's a bit of a change for you, then," he comments.
